Guest Speaker Our Own Rep. John Bucy

——————————————————————————
Co-Founder of the Western Wilco Dems Club and former Chair of the Williamson County Democratic Party, Representative John Bucy has proudly represented southern Williamson County in the Texas Legislature (Northwest Austin, Cedar Park, Round Rock, and the Brushy Creek area). His appointments for the 89th Legislative Session included Vice Chair of the Subcommittee on Disease Prevention and Women’s and Children’s Health, Vice Chair of the House Committee on Elections, and member of the House Committee on Public Health and the House Committee on Local and Consent Calendars. In the past, John has also been a member of the Higher Education, Culture, Recreation & Tourism, Transportation, and Constitutional Rights and Remedies committees. Currently, he serves as the elected Chair of the Young Texans Legislative Caucus and Vice Chair of the Innovation & Technology Caucus.
Currently serving his fourth term in the Texas Legislature, John has spearheaded legislation targeting voting rights, education funding, environmental protections, women’s rights, and criminal justice reform. He has also been one of the leading voices on Medicaid expansion and election integrity.
Last summer, John joined his fellow Democratic legislators in breaking quorum to protest the attack on Texas public education by Republicans who were attempting to pass school vouchers.

We’ll also hear from Kim Gilby, Chair of the Williamson County Democratic Party, as well as elected officials and candidates running in 2026.
        —————————-———————————————-
With the government shut down now entering a second month, and SNAP benefits running dry, many of our Williamson County neighbors are desperately in need of our help. Please bring your donations for the Hill Country Community Ministries Food Bank (WWDC’s adopted charity for the past 11 years).  Monetary donations are also needed and welcomed.

Leander residents – you can help create a Democratic super majority on the Leander City Council with your vote for Natomi Blair.

Election day is Tuesday, November 4. If you haven’t done so already, please vote on Tuesday! The Republicans passed a number of amendments which we have a chance to vote down.

Show your resistance!
